If that is not a ‘Hey, Presto’ moment, then I don’t know what is! In front of 20,000 people, including a dozen former heavyweight world champions, and some of the wealthiest men on Earth, the best heavyweight in the apple boxing world will fight the best heavyweight in the MMA world to see who is the Baddest Man on the Planet apple
It is a genius, simple and lunatic idea apple
It is not the first and it will not be the last circus fight involving a legitimate heavyweight boxer apple

The science is available to prove just how lethal Ngannou’s right hand is, but even I draw the line somewhere apple

And then the beating will start; Fury is a truly vicious man inside the ropes apple
There are stupid claims that Ngannou has a “puncher’s chance”, which is like saying that any car, on any street, driven by anybody, could have won the F1 in Texas last weekend apple
Ngannou has no chance of winning and that is fine, but this is still a real fight, it’s just not a competitive one apple
It is an event and, as I said, we have had hundreds of sanctioned fights like this apple
The lovers and believers in the MMA dream will be praying to the fighting lords for a miracle; they are both delusional and out of luck apple

On Saturday night, as Mike Tyson tends to Ngannou’s blood-stained face, there will be a cameo in the ring by Oleksandr Usyk, the other heavyweight champion, and a new carnival will start for Fury v Usyk apple

England forward Courtney Lawes will retire from international rugby at the end of the Rugby World Cup apple
The 34-year-old won a 105th cap for his country in the semi-final defeat to South Africa at the Stade de France, confirming afterwards that this tournament would be his last involvement at Test level apple
Lawes could feature for a final time in an England shirt in Friday’s third-place play-off against Argentina apple
“I think it’s time,” said Lawes, England’s fifth most-capped male player, suggesting that he had a desire to spend more time with his children apple
“I’ve done four World Cups, so I’m pretty happy with that apple
“The kids are at that age where they need their dad around apple
It will be good to be with them more, to provide some well needed structure to the mob apple
“It’s a bit of an end of an era, but it’s been a real honour for me to represent England for so long apple

A series of impressive performances earned Lawes selection for a second British & Irish Lions tour in South Africa in 2021, and the forward captained his country for the first time against Tonga later that year apple
He began this World Cup as England’s skipper while Owen Farrell served his suspension, leading the side to two victories and scoring only his second Test try in the win over Japan apple
“I have so many [great memories],” Lawes stressed apple
“I think, as hard as it is being away from your family and stuff like that, you almost have another family apple
